Google announces Pixel 7 and Pixel Watch launch dates

Google has finally revealed the launch dates of Pixel 7 and Pixel Watch at the same event.

Mountain View announced the Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, and Pixel Watch is going to unveil on October 6 at 4 p.m. in Spain and 9 a.m. in Mexico. The event will occur in New York. We already know some things about these smartphones, but there are still a lot of details we don’t know yet.

The company has taken a strange approach to the new generation. Everyone was shocked by the first look of the Google Pixel 7 at the Google I/O 2022 conference in May. Of course, Google only showed the backs of the two terminals, revealing that the Pro version has three cameras, and left the specs for later.

On the inside, Google’s Tensor 2, the second generation of the SoC, is expected to be built in. The first processor wasn’t as good as its main competitors on the market, the A chips from Apple and the Snapdragon chips from Qualcomm. Because of this, it is likely that the company has made a big change to make up for what was wrong with the first version.

The Pixel 7 will, of course, come with Android 13, which is the new version of Google’s mobile operating system. Since August, this last one has been available on the brand’s mobile phones. We don’t know if the Pixel 7’s software has kept any special news for it beyond the photos.

Issues regarding launch

One of the biggest problems the company has had with its smartphones is leaks. Even the Google Pixel 7 hasn’t been able to get out of this situation. In fact, a prototype of the Pixel 7 was up for auction on eBay at the end of May. For the first time, the product images showed the front, which showed that the proposal was almost exactly the same as the last one. Again, the front camera is housed in a hole at the top of the screen.

People are looking forward to the Pixel Watch, which is said to have a 1.4-inch screen with a resolution of 450 x 450 pixels. If it had an OLED panel, it could do things like have a display that is always on. It would have a Samsung Exynos 9110 chip, 1.5GB of RAM, and 32GB of storage space on the inside. Like the Apple Watch, it has a crown on the side that lets you control the operating system, which will be WearOS.

On October 6, all of our questions about the devices will be answered.
