A document from within Activision shows the date of “Warzone 2” launch. Accordingly, it I will take few weeks after ‘Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’.
Call of Duty players are in for some busy months. First, because the Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer beta will take place in the last two weeks of September. But we can’t forget that this game will bring a new version of the battle royale with it. We are talking about Warzone 2, of course. Activision “accidentally” let out the game’s release date.
Warzone 2 will be available on November 16, says an internal document from the American publisher that is being shared on Reddit. That is, it would come about two weeks after Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 came out.
Before we knew this, we knew that Warzone 2 would come out after Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. This is because a different team within Infinity Ward and other studios within Activision, like Raven Software, are working on the next generation of battle royale games.
Even though the date makes perfect sense, and it’s clear that Activision doesn’t want to miss out on the excitement that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s release will bring, it’s best to take the leak with a grain of salt and wait for an official announcement.
It’s also true that the millions of players who can’t wait for Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 have to think about more dates. Today, we’re letting you know that you can play the campaign a week before the official release date if you reserve the game digitally for PlayStation, Xbox, or PC. Here’s what the calendar looks like:
- Preview of MW2’s multiplayer: September 15.
- The PlayStation beta will only be available from September 16 to 20.
- Cross-play beta for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC: from September 22 to 26.
- The MW2 campaign will be available early on October 20.
- October 28 is the official release date for MW2.
- Warzone 2 is supposed to come out on November 16.
How much do we know about Warzone 2
What do we know about Warzone 2 besides when it will come out? First of all, everything points to you having to start your adventure from the beginning. In other words, your current Warzone progress will not carry over. You’d have to say goodbye to your skins, operators, and statistics.
On the other hand, there will, of course, be a brand-new map. It would look more like Verdansk in terms of design, so you can expect an urban setting with lots of landmarks from the Modern Warfare series. Some of them even got out recently:
- Center (Highrise)
- Caves (Afghan)
- A Mountain Town (Favela)
- The airport (Terminal)
Be careful, because it’s likely that Warzone 2 will be officially announced on September 15, which is also the day we’ll learn about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s multiplayer.
