Cyberpunk 2077 expansion, collab with Keanu Reeves

Cyberpunk 2077

CD Projekt RED isn’t giving up on Cyberpunk 2077, and they just announced the game’s first expansion. Phantom Liberty is the name of the downloadable content that will only be available on next-generation consoles. It will add a new neighborhood to Night City. Even though we don’t know much about the story, the teaser seems to hint at a group called the New United States of America.

The return of Keanu Reeves as Johnny Silverhand is another important detail. Silverhand tells V that collaborating with the New United States is a bad idea. The video game has new scenarios, enemies and available weapons that our character can access. Gabriel Amatangelo, in charge of the game, explains new characters and a fun way of telling a story.

Phantom Liberty is likely to come out in 2023. Players can download it for free on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Stadia. CD Projekt RED puts problems with Xbox One and PS4 behind, so they are not part of the strategy. Amatangelo said that all development will all be done on hardware from the current generation.

New Edgerunners gets a new patch

In this case, the Edgerunners patch will arrive at the same time as the next episode of the Netflix animated series. Update 1.6 will add a lot of new features. It will include the ability to change your character’s appearance without changing their armor values. You can make up to six different outfits right from your apartment or safe house.

The patch also adds new missions, 6 firearms, and 5 close-combat weapons, as well as a mobile version of the Roach Race game. As expected, Cyberpunk 2077 will have references to the anime series Edgerunners that can be found in Night City.

The update also improves how it looks and how well it works. For example, it speeds up loading, adds ray tracing, and lets Xbox Series X and PlayStation 4K dynamically scale to 4K.

Cyberpunk 2077 quits PS4 and Xbox One

D Projekt RED has said that patch 1.6 will be the last major update for PS4 and Xbox One. Gabriel Amatangelo said that they are changing some systems in Cyberpunk 2077 so that they can be used in future updates. All game improvements and new features will only be available on PC and current-gen consoles. Old-gen consoles will only get support updates every so often.

Even though the decision was made, focusing on current consoles will bother more than one person. The game revealed a year before the PS4 and Xbox One came out, and over time, it became one of the most anticipated games for that generation of consoles.

CD Projekt RED’s bad habits were exposed by the terrible launch, and the company quickly lost its fans. Even though the study goes against the flow to boost confidence, Cyberpunk 2077 is not even close to a successful comeback.
