Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 weapon leveling

We explain which game modes in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 give the most weapon XP, so you can start leveling your weapons quickly before Warzone comes out.

The multiplayer mode of Modern Warfare 2 is now open to everyone. The new system for weapons in the game is based on the different families. This changes how accessories and weapons are unlocked, since they are no longer tied to the player’s general rank level. To get access to a lot of weapons, you have to level up at least one from each family. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is very different from other games.

On the one hand, COD: Modern Warfare 2‘s weapons have fewer levels than in previous years. But they also get better slowly. And there are some that you can’t get to until you’ve reached a certain level. This means that some of the game’s rules need to be changed. Since the game makes us use weapons we don’t like or hadn’t thought of before.

Even though the 2XP tokens make it much easier to level up weapons and rank. However, the game just came out, so there aren’t many to go around. They are also a consumable that is sometimes tied to micropayments, so other ways must be found.

Invasion and Prisoner game modes are the best ways to level up weapons quickly. The first one because it was busy and, most importantly, had bots. Bots are easy to kill, and killing them gives you the same amount of weapon experience as killing a real player. Also, there are a lot of them, and if a player is lucky enough to catch a bot respawn, they can level up 4-5 weapon levels per Invasion game.

If you set things up perfectly, you can level a whole weapon in four games, at least the ones with 20-21 levels. Guns and weapons that are locked by level are a different story. Those are actually easier to upload in hardcore (or Tier 1 in this case), but the game mode isn’t out yet and won’t be until mid-November.

Prisoner Rescue is another choice. Even though it is similar to BYD and there are no constant respawns, each kill in these games counts as 4 in traditional modes, so if you are a good player, it can be a great way to get weapon XP and get ready for Warzone.

Remember that, if neither strategy works, Hot Point or Domination and objective zone losses are the simplest. They give more XP than normal kills but are slower than Invasion or Prisoner Rescue. And there, it makes sense that the SBMM limits it more, so there will be games where you barely get any XP if your opponents have a high K/D Ratio.
