The next MacBook Air would have a 15-inch screen, which has never been done before.
The upcoming MacBook Air could include surprises. If the ultralight of the Californian has shown big changes and improvements in its most recent versions—first with the M1 chip and then with a completely new design and the M2 chip this year—it doesn’t look like it will be less in its next version.
At least, that’s what Mark Gurman, a well-known journalist for Bloomberg, says. In a post he made on Sunday, he said that Apple is working on a 15-inch MacBook Air and other devices that will come out next year.
15-inch MacBook Air is the biggest one so far
The new machine would have the biggest screen improvement ever seen in the Air range. It would also come after the classic 13.3-inch size went up to 13.6″ this year with the release of the MacBook Air M2 and its notch at the top.
An increase to 15 inches would entice people wishing to exploit the full capability of the MacBook Air. This has become a capable portable work tool thanks to new Apple CPUs. Also, this is one of the MacBook Pro sizes that has been around for a long time. It will be replaced by the 16″ in 2019.
The M2 MacBook Air
At the moment, the 16-inch MacBook Pro is the only option for people who want the largest screen size, but its size and weight keep it from being very portable. At the same time, it’s clear that this will be the biggest and heaviest MacBook Air to date, which will also make it less appealing to a wide range of people.
But it wouldn’t be the only way to do things. Apple is also likely to keep making the current 13.6″ MacBook Air. Since the company stopped making the 11-inch MacBook Air in 2016, this is the first time the range catalogue has included two upgraded computers.
In 2023, Mac Pro and HomePod will also be released
In 2023, more than just the MacBook Air will be updated. Gurman says that along with the expected iPhone and iPad, the expected Mac Pro with a custom chip will also come out.
There have been more and more rumours about a Mac Pro without an Intel chip for a while now. In particular, from the way the most effective chips in the Apple M range were shown. But the difficulty of making their ideal machine for professionals has caused the original plan to be pushed back.

Now, everything points to 2023 as the year when it will be made public. It would do the same thing with a new iMac that has an M3 chip.
The journalist also says that Apple will release a new HomePod and a 14-inch iPad Pro next year.
